Fighting a dragon (3.0)

It isn't killing the party off to change a little fact the characters aren't supposed to know, anyway.

Unless they have extensive knowledge about dragons (and this one in particular, which seems to be a special one), the characters don't know that dragons have only Dex 10 and can't get Rombat Reflexes.

But they might very well know (especially if they've done any research about dragons) that dragons, especially the older and larger ones, are not very agile or maneuverable. Hell, experienced characters could probably deduce this just from watching the way the dragon moves.

The SunGlasses of Avoiding Planer Effects (or how you might call it) is a nice idea, by the way. You should be able to use it and still be able to be healed, if the spell used is the "Avoid Planer Effect" spell I know - this spell only protects against planar effects, it does not protect against similar effects. So if you are on the plane of fire, you won`t burn thanks to this spell, but if someone casts a Fireball at you, you still die a horrible death (or at least have to evade it or something like that :) ).

Anyway, here is another tactic:
I don´t know how difficult it is to avoid exploding - if the DC steadily increases, consider fighting against the dragon until he has expired most of his spells (especially all dispelling ones), and than use Dimensional Anchor on him.
Chain him to the plane and watch him explode from a safe distance! (Probably, you will want to watch via scrying, because you won`t be able to outrun him :) )
I doubt it would really work (the dragon could try to damage himself and so on), but it sounds funny :)

Dragons have an average dex of 10. So do humans. When you go against a human, do you assume that he will have a dex of exactly 10 and can't benefit from combat reflexes ?
