Figured Out One of my Main Problems with D&DI

Can someone explains me why many peoples doesn't want to suscribe to it while it's FREE ?

Ever heard the saying, "I got it for free, but I paid too much"? If something is free, and will remain free, then it might be worth putting up with the color experiments, the poor site navigation, etc. to get the little bit of useful material. If it is going to cost in a few months, then why waste my time now?

I'd be happy to pay $10 a month for material done well, presented well, organized well. When it gets that reputation here and elsewhere in the online community, I'll give it a whirl for a month or so. I'd rather pay for a trial when the reputation is that it is worth $10, than experience a free trial now, when reputation says it isn't worth $10 yet.

Exactly.

The problem is its not living up to the hype, when someone said(to paraphrase) "we know we're discontinuing your favorite magazines, but we have something really cool and awesome coming, but we cant tell you yet!!!!!!!!!!!!"

So far, its not come even close. Even for free. Dragon has been substandard thus far, Gleemax is a navagation nightmare. People are having login issues.

Doesnt bode well if you want someone to pay for the DI.

Now granted, the have their plate full at the moment. Hell 3rd party companies dont even have their SRD's yet of an OGL either.....

But you take it all together, this launch isnt looking so well. Some of the info is great, some isnt. But right now I wouldnt pay good money for anything DI related with what I see. WotC needs to get their act together.

Just because its free, doesnt mean its good. Or you shouldnt complain about things that are wrong, especially when down the line they will want you to pay for it.

Exact same info applies, so far as I can tell.

Well I tried all three of my active email addresses and none of them worked. As far as I'm concerned unless some significant motivator comes along I will not be putting forth any more effort to access their content.

Thanks for your attempts at help though. They were appreciated.

Have you tried "lost password?" approach?

I hear ya. When I signed up WotC's MB back in 2000, I used an email address I no longer have access to (if it's even the one I'm guessing it might be). I had to make a new login.

And it just occured to me that they might have sent a playtest email to said old address. Huh.
