Final Feat Survivor - and the winner is....

Hence the reason I noted initially that my group was out of step with opinions here. If you thought I said anything other than that, either you or I have failed to understand something in a pretty significant way.

I don't think you are out of step. I think that you may be reading into too much of what this vote stands for. Now you may be out of step with many of the other people around here based on other things, but this one simple vote proves nothing. It was very unscientific and it was there for fun, not to prove anything.

Hmm. Well, what I think it stands for is finding the least hated feat as voted by the EN World population. That appears to be what you think it stands for, too, so maybe we're both out of step. Is there some reason - other than padding your post count - that you've spent three messages trying to tell me I don't understand what the vote stands for? If it's just a matter of pumping your post count, then fair enough, let me know with a YHBT and carry on.

Mostly I'm just bored and this gives me something to do as the Basketball game (Pacers Pistons) is not all that exciting at the moment.

Yeah... these threads have the approximate value of a hill of beans. ;)

Ever calculate the cost of making ahill of beans?

It can get pretty expensive if you used canned beans.

Also, that hill would be pretty valuable to the starving ... I guess, just like these threads are valuable to the board;)

Yeek, I can't see how such a worthless feat could beat out power attack. I mean, holy crap? A feat you use once per combat to gain a 20% adventage once?

Use it once? Huh?

Your initiative rank last the entire combat and is referenced every single round. Seen in that light, it's used more often than Power Attack = and certainly by every class.

No, it's used ONCE. Unless something new enters combat in the middle of a fight, it doesn't matter if you rolled a 1 or a 20 on your initiative, you're still acting after your enemy past the first round, and he's always acting after you. Like I said in that last round of the poll, you enter ping pong mode after the first attack. You act, I act, you act, I act. Doesn't matter who went first, you spend the rest of the fight responding to your foe.

Matter of perspective. Sure, you only calculate the bonus once... but it influences your initiative every round*. Whereas Power Attack has to be used when it's appropriate, and sometimes just can't be used.

* Yes, it's because the initiative doesn't change from round to round. But, the point still stands. :) Think of it like a light switch: it goes on and stays on until combat is over, or initiative is re-rolled.
