Final Feat Survivor - and the winner is....

I dunno, maybe combats in our game are especially quick and nasty. Going first tends to make a big, big difference. Anything to smack down that evil mage before he starts casting (or get your defenses up). If you have the upper hand and make good use of it, the advantage definitely lasts the entire combat. Improved Initiative: boring but essential.

I always liked Improved Init, but yeah, there's an important difference between "the one loved most by people" and "the one disliked least by people." Hence, American Idol, a show that systematically weeds out anyone who has any qualities that people might sharply dislike, leaving the least exciting and edgy people to win.

Yes, but AI isn't set up to vote people off. The person who gets the fewest POSITIVE votes goes home. If you think AI has a problem with unexciting and unedgy performers winning, well, blame the producers and judges who choose the semi-finalists, and the AI voting public, who apparently like unedgy people.

For the love of pete, who ever heard of an edgy "pop" star. Rock star, yes, but for all I like Bo Bice... He is not particularly edgy.

Maybe a better feat test would be to have members select feats for a PC of a certain class and level. By giving them X feats for a 1st level fighter, you'd see what feats most people deem useful.

IMPROVED INITIATIVE!!!???

BONE!

I've never taken it and most likely never will unless I play something that can sneak attack.

We were allowed to used UA flaws and I quite happily took the 'unreactive' flaw, (it was in-character though), which gives a hefty negative initiative modifier; it's never bothered me once.

Personally I really don't think it's that important, I'm quite happy to wait my turn and it'll all turn out good in the end anyway! ;)

Imp Init is one of the best Feats in the game, and she's inconspicuous, so I'm not surprised. She was always my secret hope to win.

And thus ends a saga. The campaigns for and against each feat were fierce, but in the end only one could survive. And, it seems Improved Initiative was the least hated. If only you knew what has now been unleashed upon the world. If only you knew... But, that is a story for another day.

I'm not so sure that it was the least hated... so much as it was the one who got to act first, and managed to

buff up / port out of range / whatever

before getting cut each time. That's right, get in a quick stab at the most powerful feat while the rest of the feats were still flatfooted. Hey, we all knew it was a rogue feat... and if it multiclasses well, so does the rogue.

What a crock. Improved Initiative lost when it tied for elimination.

And the run-off vote was run over the weekend.

All things considered, not much of a win.

None of the rest of the feats were quick enough, obviously. ;)

Maybe, but that's a different exercise altogether. People choose all sorts of different feats for different reasons, some character based, some on how useful they are etc.
