I think WotC is just applying their game to general nerdom, much like the Penny Arcade Expo has a large focus on video games and video gamers, but also has D&D there.

We actually had a nice tabletop turnout at Anime Central, as well. There was a great panel discussion with August Hahn, the Warhammer guys showed up with a nifty set-up and everything.

When I was at GenCon in 1996, I spent more time in the Anime booth than at a gaming table. (1997 was different, I played almost nonstop then, but even so, Anime has had a presence there way before 3E.)
