Meanwhile, back at the crime scene...

The inquisitive pulls his lip thoughtfully. "A legitimate point..."
Another watchman comes over and whispers in his ear.

"So we've got a fire-throwing woman, a light-throwing halfling, and anything else?"

" They had some muscle with them. An elf and a human I think, both male. There didn't seem like too much special about them though, and I was kind of focused on other things. They did take down a thug or two. "

Back at the crime scene

Veyk
[sblock]
More watchmen appear and start hauling away the unconscious thugs.
One of them stops suddenly and checks a pulse.
"CLERIC!!"

The inquisitive talking to you buries his head in his hands for a moment.
"Don't go anywhere for a bit. In fact..." he leaves two watchmen to specifically keep an eye on you until he gets back.
Which he is in two minutes, having sniffed at the mouths of the two fellows that were unconscious, but judging from the way they're being wrapped up, are now dead.
When he comes back he looks furious.

"I hear you've been staying at the Tower's Shard. I know the place.
We don't look too closely there most of the time: Brews keeps a good crowd and it's nice to know where to find special talent. Like people who fling witchfire and combat spells and do fancy-footed fighting."
He looks at you meaningfully.
"There's now five corpses here. A family of five got killed over there in the fire." he jerks his thumb at the balcony where the shooters, then the fire, used to be.
"Let me make myself clear. This one is going to be solved and tried in court, with witnesses and a judge. Stay close to the Tower's Shard, Mr. Balag. You will not like it if I have to find you."

Bhalag looks straight into the eyes of inquisitive, and says in a very flat voice, " I will tell you think once. There was an attack here today, by people who do not care one whit about the laws they break, nor the lives they take. These were not the first people to die because of them, I guarantee you. Just be grateful that after today, you do not have to keep watching your back because they are lurking in the shadows, waiting for you, that someone else is taking care of it for you. "

He makes a move to leave, but he holds for just a moment and adds, " Perhaps you should tell me who you are, because it is far more likely that I will find you than you will find me. "

OOC: I will be out of town for the next week or so. I will try to get internet access while away but if I am unable please feel free to NPC me.

Ooc

Mogg or the rest of the party, does anyone have a copy of the Archivist class? It'll make NPC'ing Zook much easier.
Thank you for your support.

Veyk's social intuition tells him he needs to either back those words up with an Intimidate check to scare the inquisitive or apologize a lot.
He currently appears to be taking them as an insult.
