Final words...

Zook, looks very troubled by this, still not understanding, which to him is the most utterly perplexing thing in the world, " I do not understand. Why can't we help you? We have come so far and a warforged used his last dying breath to tell us about this. Please, do not make me let him die in vain!

"Do you think I tell you to go home foolishly!" the woman hisses at Zook.
"He would not be advised either! Learn from him and be safe!"

Zook shouts " Can't you see that I want to help. What can you do. How can you win? By yourself Manticore could tear you apart like he did our skycab. For the Love of Aureon let me help!

I think I said the loud part soft and the soft part loud.

Zook's words drop into a dead silence.
The clerk on the top has stopped feeling sorry for himself and started gaping at the two of you.
The guard is no longer watching the road ahead, but is staring at the two of you, cheek bulged with a wad of chewing tobacco.
The driver, thank the Host, is still watching the road ahead, but he's obviously straining to hear the two of you.

Down in the body of the carriage, James looks up from his letters.
"I say," he addresses Bhalag, "Is that your gnomey chap up there? Sounds like he's talking a little loudly. Not that I see most of these people would care, save perhaps this fellow."
He nods at Rethlin.
"There's just no appreciation for the good work of the Flame nowadays. Poor Nathaniel."

Bhalag's gaze drifts upwards to the sound of Zook's voice, and he reaches up to pound on the ceiling of the cab.

" Nathaniel? " he asks, looking back down to James.

Zook realizing he's been a little over-assertive, goes silent as well.

The woman slumps down into a pile of morose resignation.
"Very well." she whispers.

The guard looks at you for a while longer, expecting someone to do something interesting.

Bhalag briefly looks out the window. " Any idea how much longer until we arrive at our most interesting and dangerous destination? " he asks.

(OOC: There was a certain hope that Autumns issues might get resolved and Kae's train could make the station.
This now seems unlikely. She's probably got on some other train. With my luck, she'll turn up in Beer Run.)

"It's a full night, old tod."
James yawns.
"We'll get there about five in the AM -- if we're lucky, we can get a breakfast at the station before our business. I can usually get just enough sleep to prepare spells, particularly if they switch the horses quietly."

(Unless somebody's character wants to say something else, it's a quiet trip. Rethlin, are you back with us?)
