Finding d16s (was: How Balanced are d16s?)

But, gosh, the d30 is so annoying to me... it's been around for decades, and back in the day, everyone swore by them and never, ever used them. They'd claim they'd roll days on a calendar, but... nope, they never actually did that, just thought they might.
I think you just summed up 80% of gaming purchases made by thousands of gamers over the years. "You never know when you might use" an interesting book, die, card game, map, etc., etc...

My conscious knowledge of this won't stop me from making such purchases, of course. :)

The opaque / clear d30 sounds like it's what they call "polarized". I gotta go, so instead of an explanation, I'll just refer you to google.

For those looking for a way to use a d16:

One of the most interesting things about the Superworld system is that the point system allowed you to use any dice for damage for a special ability. The cost was based on the maximum damage. Once as a small practical joke I created a character who used a d7 and d11 for a player who I knew would appreciate it.

And wow, Chessex expects you to just email them you credit card info! They have no kind of secure form.

Nuts! And they have the ones I want and for cheaper!

You could check out the producer of the dice, at Gamestation.net (you can order online).

Yep, I ordered!

But of course, in my eagerness I messed up putting in my billing info and I am not sure if my order went through. I emailed them. . . sigh!

d16s! You confound me!

Any particular technical difficulty with making a d17 or a d19, or is it just that nobody has bothered?
