Finding in-person games

My teenaged daughter is looking for an in-person game, and all of the old suggestions have struck out. Our FLGS doesn't even have a board anymore. Local library does, but no D&D on it. FB seems to be striking out.

So, now that so many public places no longer advertise games, how does someone without any local RPG contacts find a local game?

Meetup.com might help. I know that Los Angeles has a lot of meetup gaming groups. Perhaps there are some near you.

I'll second Meetup. Some of the game stores around me have Meetup groups to keep in-store play more organized.

Thanks for the meetup.com suggestion. Unfortunately nothing within 25 miles, and then we start getting hits in New York City which is such a non-starter.

It was a good thought. It very well might have yielded pay dirt and I never thought of it.

I'm in the same position. Meetup brings groups in Nashville, TN, which is well over two hours away.
If this is the golden age of D&D, I'm just not seeing it.

Does anywhere near you host Adventurer's League? I guess your FLGS doesn't? We have a board game bar/restaurant in my city which does.

I've heard from multiple people that it's common for steady attendees at AL games at a given store to coalesce into a regular group.

Gaming cafes? The game stores here, as well as the game cafe has have sign-ups I think.
