MerricB, in your opinion, are the criticisms of the module deserved or not? How do you see the series?
Indeed. After reading over the module, I dropped it like a hot potato. I'm very willing to acknowledge that my group's style, coupled with me hating the Realms and requiring a conversion may have been the dual kiss of death, though. I'd love to hear a retrospective.

Cool. You had more mobility and ranged power than we did. Seems to have helped out a lot. Our two martials were melee. Bard was a focused buffer. Evoker had some ranged power, but not enough to do it alone. Cleric was a focused healer.

The end had great epic imagery. Definitely felt like you saved the world. Did you give them a great magic item for their trouble from the assembled hoard? Our DM let me have a Robe of the Archmagi. I was happy.

Alas, by the rules of the D&D AL, I couldn't give them magic items that aren't specifically called out in the adventure. :( OTOH, they're starting new characters for Princes of the Apocalypse (and Tyranny was pretty magic-light overall), so it hasn't mattered too much.

Cheers!

Our DM told us the end module hoard stated that if the PCs spent time searching, they could find nearly any magic item they wanted. He made it sound like it was the purview of the DM to choose what to give the players for accomplishing the epic task. I didn't realize that wasn't written into the module.

Yes. On to the next module. Id didn't get to enjoy my robe yet either. We wanted to try new characters.
