Firefly Movie...maybe

There is a special level in hell, reserved for TV executives and those who talk at the theater.

LOL! I recognize the quote. It was from the episode "Our Mrs. Reynolds," if I remember correctly. Excellent episode, but then again, what episode wasn't?

"About Reavers"? Any chance they will tie in with River's mental powers?

I'd have a hard time believing the Reavers would tie in with River's mental powers. If you view Firefly as a futuristic old West show, the Reavers fit in more as the "savage Indians." River's mental powers came from (Alliance?) scientists tampering with her brain. Now I'd hope that her story would be part of a subplot. There are still a lot of unanswered questions concerning her. I'd also like to know the full story behind Book -- just who is he really?

I like all the cowboy Western influences that can be found in the series, from their guns to their speech to the whole frontier culture complete with "savages." Heck, from a side profile, Serenity even looks like a horse!

Now I'm going to have to rewatch all the episodes again. I need another Firefly fix.

I seem to be turning into quite the Firefly fanboy. So be it.

Something cool I noticed yesterday as I was rewatching some of the episodes yet again:

In the pilot episode when they land on Persephone, Kaylee talks to Mal about needing to buy a new compression coil. Mal refuses. In the second episode ("The Train Job") there is a scene where Mal finds the engine room in disarray and tracks down Kaylee for an explanation. She tells him that she's had to rewire parts of the engine because "somebody won't replace that crappy compression coil." Moving several episodes later to "Out of Gas," my personal favorite, we find the Serenity dead in space. The reason? You guessed it, a busted compression coil. I don't know why but I got a kick out of the realization that the compression coil plot element had actually been hiding in plain sight from the very beginning.

I don't know if anyone else will even find that interesting, but I thought I'd share.

WOW, I didn;t know there were that many fans out there? I loved the show, and it was the only time I ever wrote to a network praising a TV show. Then canceled!!! GRR. First Firefly then Farscape. I don't understand it. Yet the bachelor is top rated. Is our society that messed up?!? Oh well. I had no idea they were releasing a DVD. Now That is great news!
