So when ever I hear people say when characters of different alignments/classes CAN'T work together, I say BS. You just don't know how to properly Role Play.

Well, I think it’s a bit presumptuous to say other people don’t know how to properly roleplay. A lot of people would look at your example of play, and dislike both premise and results.

Besides which, you can have conflicting interests without having a party member whose basic morals are incompatible with the rest of the party.

It’s a cool story, and sounds like y’all had a great time, but that sort of thing isn’t for everyone. Not because some folks can’t roleplay or whatever, but because preferences wrt to types of stories and experiences differ.
