Fixing Cleave

I generally only allow a Cleave on a target, if the initial attack could also be carried out against that target, that is the full limitations on the initial attack carry over to the Cleave attack. In an AoO this is never possible, since no two opponents can provoke an AoO at the same time, hence no Cleave.

There's nothing broken about cleaving on an attack of opportunity. I'll never nerf the feat in my game. I'm all for rules balancing, but this smacks of sour grapes to me.

Not to me. Seems a reasonable change - I've been considering adding it to my houserules for a while now.

I think it's a "problem" to penalize someone for something, that someone hasn't done, i.e. having that someone basically provoke an attack of opportunity for nothing. Which is what it comes down to, especially with Great Cleave.
