Some people have received their copies of Fizban's Treasury of Dragons, and have posted photos (including the table of contents!) online!
Is Aremag new? Is he a friend to children everywhere?
Edited to add: He must be a dragon turtle...
I thought they made it pretty clear there isn’t going to be anything new in that book. It’s simply an consolidation / update of existing material.… and the revised Kobold race (holding out hope for Monsters of the Multiverse to contain it and the Hobgoblin of the Feywild)
That would be pretty useful if they did so. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any indication of that outside the song and steel sidebar. But I would definitely be up for a supplementary DMs Guild release for something like that.Maybe they tried that at some point, but found Bedtiary entries for Yellow, Mitral, etc. Dragons became a bit repetitive, when some conversion notes might do.
They might consider those Kobold and Hobgoblin options to be pseido-errata.I thought they made it pretty clear there isn’t going to be anything new in that book. It’s simply an consolidation / update of existing material.
Perhaps, but he's on basically the same level as his parents, Tiamat and Bahamut! He's the God of Gem Dragons! I really wish that he got stats in this book.Saridor does seem to get significant attention in the book, so the lack of a system block is interesting. Perhaps Saridor is represented as a Gem Great Wyrm...?
I agree that some of them are redundant, but IMO, Steel Dragons are really cool. They're spies for Lord Ao, live dozens of lifetimes Shapechanged as humanoids, can have humanoid children without them being Half-Dragons, can retain their draconic powers while Shape Changed, and are super secretive. I personally don't think they're redundant. As to every Dragon type that has ever been in D&D...they did get some deep cuts in here, and I will wager we will see suggestions for some others as with Steel Dragons. An awful lot of Dragons throughout the games history are a bit...redundant.

I'm irked that we we get Aspects of Tiamat and Bahamut, but not for Sardior. Sardior always get the shaft.but the one I'm most upset about is the fact that we don't have stats for Sardior. Gem Dragons will never be equal until we have monster stats for their God! Without them, how are players supposed to kill him!?!?
(/s for the last bit, but the rest of the post is completely serious.)
They weren’t ever officially published, though. I am fairly certain we won’t see anything that was only ever released in UA.They might consider those Kobold and Hobgoblin options to be pseido-errata.
Yeah. He's the God of Gem Dragons, one of the 3 main types of dragons. But I mean...is he, really?
