Flatfooted question

First Post
It says a player is considered flatfooted until he has taken his action. I have a fighter with a reach weapon and combat reflexes. If the enemy goes first and approches my fighter, because of combat reflexes and reach weapon, I get an AOO. After I swing am I now still flatfooted until my offical turn or would I not be flatfooted because I had acted already?

No, you are still flatfooted.

Also, you do not get that Attack of Opportunity. Page 120 PHB (3E): "A flat-footed character cannot make attacks of opportunity."

Ditto PHB 3.5 page 137.

I agree with KarinsDad that you are still flatfooted.

But I think, KD, you are wrong on that AoO. Since he has the "Combat Reflexes" Feat, he should be able to a make an AoO while flatfooted.

COMBAT REFLEXES [GENERAL]
Benefit: You may make a number of additional attacks of
opportunity equal to your Dexterity bonus.
With this feat, you may also make attacks of opportunity while flat-footed.

You Attack of Opportunity is not an action. The feat is called Combat REFLEXES. I always like to think of it that you reflexively lash out at an enemy who has left himself open (due to superior training etc.) even before consciously deciding to do so.

Careful - that leads to "You threaten an area while Dazed or Stunned, since those conditions only prohibit you from taking actions, and an AoO is not an action"...

So I'm Dazed - I can't drop my sword (a free action, which I can't take), but if you drink a potion, I can hit you?
