Going out on business next week to Bromont, QC and Burlington, VT. Was wondering if there were any good Friendly Local Gaming Shops in those towns.

Hi Mapleaxe,

Can't help you with respect to Bromont, but here in Burlington we've got Quarterstaff Games. The friendliness is kind of hit or miss, but it's a game store and they're willing to sell things ;)

It's located toward the bottom of Church Street in Burlington, above Earth Prime Comics. I think it's 152 or 158 Church St., but I may be off about the number.

Wow, Quarterstaff was WAY friendly back when I used to shop there in the late 80's.

I know squat about Bromont, when in Quebec I don't venture much past Montreal.

Edit: Quarterstaff, not Quartersfatt.

Yeah, Quarterstaff is pretty hit and miss...

They are a big GW shop, and that seems to be about all anyone there cares much about.

But hey. Its a gamestore. In Vermont. :)

Is Quarterstaff still offering that deal that is you bring in something like $150 (or was it $200?) worth of receipts of stuff you bought from them, you get a permanent 10% discount to all future purchases?

Alzrius,

I believe they discontinued that several years ago.. they still honor the discount cards, but don't issue new ones.

And HellHound, I dunno about the 80's so well, but they really got kind of unfriendly during the 90's - employees acted like it was an imposition to sell something, etc. Might have been game-snobbery, since as Rugger points out, it's a pretty big GW place.

Wow, guess I got lucky on taking advantage of that when I did.

On the subject of their friendliness, I never noticed anything, but then, I tended to just head over to the corner with the D&D stuff and not really ask for much help. There were some times that they weren't as nice as they could be, but nothing I'd call downright rude/insulting. Of course, it could just be that I'm oblivious.
