FLGS in San Diego, CA?

Hey hey! I'm back (again) and hopefully this time for an extended amount of time. And so here I am, asking the vast intellect of ENWorld about the locations of FLGS and coolnes there of in San Diego, CA. I actually live in San Diego, between La Mesa and El Cajon, but really I'm interested in good gaming stores ANYWAY in my rad, sunny home.

SD ENWorlders chime in here, too -- so I can totally steal you for my Deadlands game. :D

Thanks in advance!

The more obvious ones.

Game Empire
(858) 576-1514
(858) 576-1525
7051 Clairemont Mesa Blvd
San Diego, CA 92111

Game Towne
(619) 291-1666
3954 Harney St
San Diego, CA 92110

That is pretty much it at the moment. I tend to go to Game Empire because of people I know there, but Game Towne I think might be the friendlier of the two as far as employees go.

There is also Do or Dice in La Mesa.
619-741-7653
7101 University Ave
La Mesa, CA 91941.
They are a very friendly family store, but are only open Fridays and Saturdays now from 10-6 I think so that they can focus on getting their minature wargame on the market.

Awesome! Do any of these places offer a place to play pen-and-paper stuff? Which, of these, would you say is more pen-and-paper oriented? And are you guys lookin' for games?

Hahaha. Hey buddy. :D Look me up on AIM sometime: ultradaveo, or e-mail @ dave.ohoh@gmail.com.

BUT -- to keep this thread on its rails, since it seems to sort of be going in a San Diego in general direction, why don't all of our San Diego gamers chime in here? Maybe we can get some massively fun games going on. I'm willing to run just about anything d20, since that's what system I know best, and really play just about anything.

And y'know since Teflon Billy's movin' to San Diego and all. :heh:

Game Towne and Game Empire both have gaming areas with tables. I am pretty sure both of them have regular scheduled events though. Like you can't play on wednesdays at the GE because that is a warhammer 40K night. A fair amount of good people, but no roleplaying space at all.

I don't go to the Towne much though, so I can't say what sort of events they have scheduled there. Actually... sometime soon they should be having one of their yearly game fests. I'd give them a call for that. You can meet some fun people, but a lot of kinda scary ones. When I worked there we used to joke about having a snif test at the gate and hosing down anybody who failed.

I prefer Game Towne to Game Empire, but that's just me. Over the years the staff at Game Towne seemed more interested and up to date on d20 and D&D in general whereas I got short and often inaccurate answers about those products from the staff at Game Empire (who seemed more interested in Games Workshop stuff).

Just my 2 coppers.

Well damn, if there are so many of us in San Diego why don't we meet up and start getting into some games? I'd really love to play since I haven't gotten to in forever, always always running games.

Belmont Park in Mission Beach is always good. :D

I'd love to coordinate a meet up, just send me an e-mail at dave.ohoh@gmail.com!
