Flying Wagon

Ok...

My players are on the cusp of 8th level. They are planning ahead to 9th level and the wizard wants to take Craft Wondrous Item.

Their goal: to make their "gypsy" wagon a flying gypsy wagon.

I like the idea but have no clue what the experience point cost for the permanency spell would be. They're sitting here right now (we've just finished for the evening) talking about it.

Does anyone here have any thoughts to share on this?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Just look at similar magic items and get an idea. While I grant there is no "flying wagon" to base it off of, it shouldn't be too hard to get ideas.

Of course, that assumes you are building it from the ground up. If you are trying to just cast a permanent levitate spell on a wagon (not sure how a Fly spell would work given that that wagon isn't alive, would have to read the exact wording of the spell closer), it's a different story.

well, since he said Craft Wondrous Itesm, it seems he want to build a flying wagon. You don't need the feat to use the permancy spell.

I think it should be based on the carpet of flying. A wagon will probably be much bigger then the biggest carpet. The biggest carpet is 6x9 ft, carrying capacity of 1200, speed of 120, and a cost of 53,000

So, it should be much more then this depending on the exact size and speed they want the wagon to be.
