For Those Upset About The Flavpr Changes

The Following Describes My Game World of Choice...

Old school grey-box Forgotten Realms without all the fruity "high fantasy". As far as I can tell the whole point-of-light concept is pretty much inline with early FR material.

(And just to clarify, yes, I am one of those greybeards who believes the early grey-box material was the best and that a couple decades worth of supplementary material simply detracts from the imagination :-)

I game in most worlds EXCEPT Greyhawk. I have a lot of respect for the old girl, but my players usually prefer something in a different mould, whether it be Faerun, Eberron, or an off-the-wall homebrew of a fellow player's creation.

I DM in a LOT of different settings (let's just say "one new setting a year" is kind of a dream scenario for me. :)).

If the design fits the PoL setting too closely, it's not going to mesh with MOST of my campaigns.

Poll needs to be multiple choice...

One game I play in uses straight-up Greyhawk.

The other game I play in uses much-modified Known world a.k.a. Mystara.

My last campaign used a much-modified gray-box FR.

My next campaign will use a homebrew world, perhaps Greyhawk-ish in tone (though likely more Known-World-ish) but that's hard to say until its been played a while. Quite possibly might end up being closer to this points-of-light business we keep hearing about...

Tough question.

I said "similar to greyhawk" as that describes my most recent game. My longest running game was set in Dark Sun though, so I'm not married to a single concept of what fantasy is.

I'm currently designing a mini setting (point of light if you will) that falls on that similar to greyhawk line. I'll likely run that first. My more ambitious projects include a full campaign setting that is likely more similar to Dark Sun (but still a lot different) and a modern post apocalypse setting I would rather run via 4e than d20 modern.
