Yup, that's basically my idea above, except that I also recommend becoming a lich before the magic jar series, just in case someone manages to kill you.

Actually, neither Timeless Body nor A Thousand Faces satisfies the 'forever' aspect. My favourite is becoming a Lich and then Mind Swapping into a young and beautiful body each time you get killed.
