Yes but. Most PoL seem to focus on the idea of humanity (and allies) barely holding out against the monsters. Whereas in the Dalelands it's the monsters who are barely holding out against all the high level adventurers!
I’m seriously considering running Elminster as a standard mage (if a lecherous one) with a very good PR firm and a flair for the dramatic to make himself seem grander than he is. Almost wizard of oz like. Definitely an illusionist specialist wizard.

Interesting that Battledale was apparently attacked by "Sembians and their Shadovar allies". Is that a new development?

This occurred during the Sundering.

Before that much of Sembia except cities closest to Cormyr had been conquered by Shade. When Shade went to war with nations like Cormyr, Myth Drannor, and the Dalelands and maybe others during the early Sundering Myth Drannor got destroyed by Shade landing on it, the Dalelands got trashed, but liberated, and Cormyr at the end pulled back its borders to their original size, no longer able to protect the areas it had expanded to in the post Spellplague era.

I didn't know that! Thank you so much!
