The Table of Contents for both Heroes of Faerun and Adventures in Faerun.
Picked the books up this morning and love what I’ve seen so far. I’ll answer whatever questions I can here.
That could be it, potentially! Szass Tam is mentioned often, although I assumed he would be anyways. Good idea!!@TravDoc42 @Parmandur
Perhaps tying into the backstory for the movie Honor Among Thieves?
Maybe the rise of Szass Tam was violent enough to require reconstruction?
That was a long, long time ago in the Setting.@TravDoc42 @Parmandur

No, the plan was to rewrite all of existence into a new one where he ruled as the sole god.I remember Szass rendered a good chunk of Thay into wasteland as a part of a plan in 4e.
It resulted in an increased use of undead workers to deal with the sudden labor shortage and a massive decrease in food production.Yeah couldn’t remember the exact details but Thay is still repairing from that I think.
From SCAG:I think there was a brief reference to events in Thay somewhere in SCAG, but I’m not in position to look it up at the moment.
How much of Thay died in those things? The Forgotten Realms wiki doesn't give enough details. No, the plan was to rewrite all of existence into a new one where he ruled as the sole god.
His first attempt at that plan turned a good chunk of Thay into a wasteland when someone else hijacked the ritual, got killed, and the resulting ritual failure caused the Dread Rings he'd raised across Thay to facilitate it exploded.
Which provides a great plot hook since he now needs to build Dread Rings in new places since Thay no longer has the potential for the ritual.
