I am starting my new campaign right soon....and even though I know a fair bit o' lore of the realms.... I dont have enough on my starting region to be completely comfortable......Icewind Dale and the spine of the world mountains ,seems like the perfect place for hearty adventurers to make a name for themselves, no? Only thing is info on this area is sparse at best.... I have the second edition NORTH boxed set, and Volo's guide to the north, 3e silver marches , Frcs , and races of faerun, but Is there anywhere else i can get more info.....?
Heck I even scavenged some maps from the pc game icewind dale....lol

anyway, help is appreciated.

I think Savage Frontier deals with this area in detail. Let me look.... Yup, its got Icewind Dale all detailed. This is a second edition book that is out in PDF form now. I bought it originally from WotC, but I don't think they are still selling them, the distribution rights was sold to someone else. Try RPGNOW.COM, they may have a copy.

If not, try as best you can to scrounge one of these up, its a decent enough book to have.

What? No one's going to suggest R. A. Salvatore's Icewind Dale trilogy?

Well, I suppose he's never going to hear about it then. That's sad...

I have read the trilogy....thats one of the reasons I am wanting to set my game if the frozen far....

Between the trilogy and all the sourcebooks mentioned above, it sounds like you have just about all the information that has been published on that area.

It seems like plenty to go with to me, but what exactly are you looking for?
