Rich Baker, on that wotsie thread. Pseudonym even quoted him.

Knight Otu quoted new monsters. He forgot some that will be new in print (they were in the CotSQ web-enhancement): foulwing and giant arachnids.

Why would that feat need revision?
I like it as is!
Mostly to balance it with the nerfed Spell Focus. A feat that gives +1 to all save DCs is sort of balanced with one that gives +2 to save DCs in one school, but +1 to all save DCs is way overpowered compared to +1 to save DCs for one school.

Damn that Greater Spell Focus that required such extensive nerfing.

Ack! Attack of the endless rules!

Oh, well, I guess I'm part of the "not really interested" crowd. Endless lists of feats, spells, and prestige classes tend to bore me to tears, and by now I have more monster writeups in various books that I could ever use. The cosmology section could be interesting, though...

But apparently this book does have an audience. ;)

Well, basically, it's an update of the FRCS and other FR books (Monsters of, Magic of, etc.) for the revised rules.

Of course it's not going to include much background informations; it's a rule upgrade book first & foremost.

However, they do add icing to the cake by putting in some new stuff, some background informations on the events detailed in the novels, the long-awaited cosmology of the realms, and -- icing to the cake -- how to use various optional books in the Realms.

In fact, there's stuff for everyone -- the only thing missing seems to be realmslore, you know, the article when Ed Greenwood explains you the dressing code of silverraen bakers or the architectural styles of halfling towns in Cormyr.

WOTC doesn't want that any more. :( Crunch all the time, every time. Fluff bad. For example, we will never probably see another Volo's Guide or a Aurora's Guide (even though that could be considered crunch I suppose).
