Is the swift and silent feat new. If not, can anyone tell me what it does? It sounds interesting.

This is just pure speculation, but I'm guessing that it will allow you to Move Silently while moving at your regular speed instead of half-speed.

"Yes, we nerfed Spellcasting Prodigy. You just get the
bonus spells now, not the DC boost. That's a pretty
nasty nerf, because there are many levels at which it
won't do anything for you (but at high levels you'll
always like it, because at ability scores 20+ you'll
always get some benefit)."

Hm...I wonder if you will still be required to take it at 1st level now that its teeth have been knocked out.

I for one will be happy to purchase this when it hits the street, if for the information on the cosmology alone.

Rich Baker elaborates a bit about Karsus' Avatar. It doesn't seem so bad now that I read his responce.

In my opinion, it's really there to illustrate the point. The Spellcraft DC is 240, so you're not going to throw it as soon as you crack 21st level. Also, the casting time is 6 hours, and the targeted deity becomes aware of the attempt as soon as you start and is free to interrupt you by any means at his/her disposal. So, you're going to have to earn it.

I suppose we could have put a sentence in saying "If you go after Mystra, you'll kill all magic throughout the world for some short period of time" just to be clear, but I think it's in the book simply because it is an example of an epic spell that has been cast in Faerun before. It would seem a little, well, incomplete to not define it.

I really cant wait for this book. BTW, has anyone seen underdark?

Daaaaaang... This book is gonna be HUGE. I love all of the FR
stuff that has come out so far, and this looks like it's going to be
another quality book... with a large pagecount.

Personally, I don't mind the "regurgitation" because it will give them
a chance to update everything to 3.5e.

Good point. WOTC does have a habit of doing this. The question remains when will people grow tired of it? Until buyers do, the company will continue to reprint when/where they can.

Remember the otherside of this. It's good to not require people to have other books to use the one they just bought.

Anyone else remember 2e?
