Forgotten Realms: Souls and elemental deities/primordials

In the Forgotten Realms, nearly everyone has a patron deity who claims their soul upon death and delivers it to their divine realm, correct? But occasionally a character will worship a non-divine entity (e.g.: The Cult of the Unseeing Eye in BGII); these worshipers go to the Fugue Plane as Faithless, right?

So what happens to followers of elemental "gods" such as Kossuth? As of 4E, Kossuth (and others) were revealed as primordials rather than deities; can Kossuth still claim souls of his faithful? If so, where does he take them to?

Thanks for your help.

In response to your wall of the faithless question, I believe the answer is yes unless, as has been intimated in a novel or similar source, some other deity claims the soul.

As for the Kossuth question, this was never addressed in 4E nor was the status of the faithful/faithless/false arrangement of those who had died.

I think the best place to answer these sorts of questions which don't have a practical impact on gameplay is over at Candlekeep. Ed himself would probably answer these questions.

Hmm that's pretty tempting. I had been hoping to avoid signing up for another forum, but perhaps going to the source is the best idea anyway.

Their forum software is really, really, REALLY old so you're not going to be bombarded with notifications or any other sort of email. Anyway, the question may have even been answered there already: just search for some relevants terms plus the phrase "Questions for Ed Greenwood".
