The Banneret is leaning into Warlord mechanics, with refreshing ally hit points and even "Lazylord" facilitating Reaction attacks from allies.

Still well short for a proper warlord, but seems like it may be the new Nova king.

Bonus action + Action surge and your party all gets an to attack with advantage, on top of your 6-8 that turn.

Potentially 13 attacks, including sneak attack, and the sorcerer (who took Shillelagh) can still do a Scorching Ray with advantage on their turn. Or if your party can Push and clumped them all up for a fireball or something.

Edit: also, out of turn movement for Spirit Guardians

My first thought was, I am glad to see a martial class powerful at the highest tier of levels.

Yet I've already seen some in the web complain about how the Banneret lvl 3 & 7 features being on SR means it's weak because you're out of a subclass once used

Depends on the party.
If no one can capitalize on it, like a wizard casts fireball, with no advantage and no weapon attack to make, then it's going to be pretty meh.

If you have 2 rogues a cleric running spirit guardians, then you can end a fight. You shouldn't be able to do that more than once per short rest.

winter walker: wow, another ranger subclass focused on hunters mark. I would never have expected that...
also, again focusing on wisdom for number of feature usages. bad decision as usual in 2024.

banneret; yes. we needed another fighter subclass focused on quarternary ability for a fighter... at best.
thanks, I'll stick to battlemaster for your idea of a discount warlord.

It's the only fighter that can heal others. Also, just to compare.

Battlemaster 10 gets 5 dice per short rest.

Banneret can give advantage to 4 allies * 2 attacks + 4 reaction with advantage
= 12 Distracting Strike + 4 Commander's Strike
= 16 dice worth per short rest. AND a mass healing word.

Worst case, no one can make use of advantage, so that's 4 Maneuvering Attacks worth, plus a mass healing word.

Also the Banneret works out if combat to just give people advantage on a check.

Can't really compare the level 15 features. They are different.
