Brief addendum: I just noticed I never actually explain who the PCs are -- this is the story of Fletch the human wizard and chronicler, Rhogash the dragonborn warlord, and Throg and Grog the bugbear brothers (a barbarian and a fighter, respectively), later joined by Cadre the tiefling starlock. A generation before the story began, Toril blew up and our parents fled through magic portals to Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.
