Forsaker with permanent spell

Orco42

First Post
What would happen if, before becoming a Forsaker, a fight had resistance cast on him permanently?

A. He could not take the PrC (until dispelled).
B. He could take the class and the spell remains active.
C. Other

Thanks.

He can take the class, he just loses all the class abilities as if he used a magical item or otherwise violated the no magic rule. So, you'd need to get it dispelled to really use the class.

However, if you have a permanent spell that was not a benfit (like Blindness or Deafness) I would allow that. I'd also allow that to fullfill the almost being killed by magic requirement.

He's not allowed to use any magical items. So, if you get them before the class, then it's okay. If you use them while you have the class you have to wait I think a year and a day of no magic to get the abilites back.

Ah, but you must keep in mind toems and manuals give inherent bonuses. The stat bonuses from the prestige class are also inherent bonuses. They don't stack.

So if used a manual to get a +2 Strength, and then added 3 points to Strength from the prestige class, you'd still only have a +3 bonus.

(It's like using a Wish. Using five wishes in immediate succession gives you a single inherent bonus of +5. But if you use one wish per day for a week, you'll just get the same +1 bonus multiple times; if they're applied to the same stat, you'll have wasted a lot of XP for only one stat point.)
