Forum activity down?

A thread going on in the d20 Modern forum has several people pointing out that the boards are rather inactive right now.

Is it true? I hadn't particularly noticed, as you can't see the number of people currently browsing, like you could previously (or at least I don't know where that feature is, if it still exists). So it's hard for me to say.

I and at least a few others have noticed that general activity is down a bit. I can't verify this with any numbers - it just seems that way to me- Ever since the board switched to the new version. As I posted in a previous meta thread, I theorize that it is due in part to less threads per page and the psycological block against casual users going past page one of a forum to view threads.

Hopefully with the Server upgrades that Morrus is planning, he will consider going back to more threads/page.

edit: go to the pulldown list (jump to ) at the bottom of any forum/thread view, and scroll to the top. You will see the view "who's online" option there.

Play by post seems to remain as active as ever though...
I agree... PbP has been rocking of late.

The rest of the board does seem to be slower though, but every thread I've started has gotten the replies I was expected in the amount of time I expected. (very short)

It's the unreliability of the boards that is decreasing the activity.
If someone goes to ENWorld 3 times, and it's down/slow, than they file away the site as non-working, and tend to go back less.

When I checked earlier, we had 300 people; 150 lurkers, and 150 members. My fear is that there are a lot of people who are still going to the cyberstreet address, and who thus can't stay logged in.

Right now we have 213 people, 85 of whom are guests.
