Founding of a Guild (4e)

[sblock=redclaw] red, the green area does not represent trees. It's an hill starting to rise. It's difficult terrain and there's no cover there...[/sblock]

Oak shifts into a defensive posture, and light seems to flare in the wounded warforged's eyes as Oak shrugs off the impact of the two arrows.

"It'll take more than that to keep me from taking you down, hobgoblin scum!" shouts the renewed warrior.

[sblock=OOC]
Minor action - Warforged resolve - +3 HP, +3 temp HP
Standard action - second wind - +7 HP from the healing surge, +2 to all defenses until the start of Oak's next turn.
Move action - move to K14 (this'll provoke an OA from Orc 5, but I'm counting on the second wind and mark to make that a miss).

Also, Oak is not a "he" - I've carefully referred to Oak as "it" and, as Oak told Meriadeth, Oak has trouble with identifying gender sometimes. :) [/sblock]

[sblock=about the carriage] Guys, maybe I should have clarified this before. A vehicle that must accomodate six people for a quite a few tens of miles should be i'd say at least about 6 to 7 feet. since it's upset now that's its height. So the carriage certainly offers cover , but i don't know if it'd be such a good idea to attack from the inside of an object taller than you. If I can give an advice, from your position you could try to hide BEHIND the carriage, in L8, and attack the orc from there. what do you say? Sorry if i'm too picky[/sblock]

(yes, I was aware of the AoO but would take that rather than stay in archery fire. Would use staff defense to hopefully ward off that blow.)

Blizzard pokes his leathery snout out of the back of the carriage and discharges a ray of frost that the horse. "Chill!" The ray flies wide and impacts a rock in the distance to a shower of ice crystals.

(10 vs ref)

Isdar rolls between the carriage's broken wheels, seeks cover in the wreckage, and drives his dagger into the orc.Now take care of the archers, he shouts at the others. (4 sneak attack damage)

The injured old dragonborn slithers into cover behind the carriage.
The orc swings at the wizard, but misses widely and suffers the consequences of his attack by Desh's divine power.

The hobgoblin is still more than willing to fight, but seeing all bets are off, he charges wildly at Elias and hits him hard

Elias, despite his bloodied and injured condition, yells to his comrades, especially the Warforged, encouraging them to keep up their strength. As he stands there, Elias breathes deeply, allowing adrenaline to sustain him and help him shake off his wounds.

"Eat metal!" Elias yells at the mounted Hobgoblin as he swings his flail. As he attacks, Oak sees the opportunity to slide his sword in and stab the hobgoblin for some extra potent effect.

Minor- Inspiring Word on Oak (1d6=6) So, 6 + his healing surge in regained HP.
Standard - Second wind. +6 HP and +2 to all defenses for me.

Action point - Hammer and Anvil (str vs Reflex!) on H1: 1d20 6=20, 1d8 3=8. I hope a 20 vs Reflex hits because if it does I do 8 damage and Oak gets a melee basic attack (1[W] + str mod) with an extra 2 damage from my CHA mod.

Desh, HP: 29 (39) -- AC: 19, Ft: 15, Rf: 11, Wl: 14

OOC: I posted yesterday, forum must have eaten my post. Sorry.

Hmm, this one's a tough bugger. Desh looks around, taking in the battleground. He begins to worry as the mounted hobgoblin closes in on the rest of the group.

He grunts "...if ya want something done right..." and takes another swing at the orc before exploding into action. Abandoning his position next to the wagon the dark-hued dragonborn dashes between his comrades shouting "You will never fear to face those who would sow tyranny and attempt to tame you for fortune will be at your back and My breath will fill your lungs!"*

* holy scripture, you know...

standard action: HOLY STRIKE (1d20+6=13, 2d6+7=16)
move action: move to I-8
ACTION POINT: PALADIN'S JUDGMENT (1d20+6=24, 6d6+5=22) on the hobgoblin & 1 ally within 5 squares [Elias] can spend a healing surge.
OOC-- what a lame damage roll.
minor: DRAGON'S BREATH (1d20+6=18, 1d6+2=8) cold damage on hobgoblin & horse.

The last orc finally falls at the strike of the dragonborn. The hobgoblin, too, suffers both the fierce attacks of the Paladin, and, having resisted the flail, is knocked down by the cold, and falls from the horse, senseless, while his mount flees, panicked.

Only the two Hobgoblin archers on the hill still stand.

[sblock=Is] Since Desh killed both the orc and the hobgoblin, Elias'll need a new action [/sblock]

Elias is rejuvenated by the Dragonborn's holy powers. He then moves almost all the way to the hill and takes a defensive stance.

[sblock=ooc]
Heal 6 from Desh's power. Move to J10.
Standard - Total defense (+2 to all defenses)
Saving throw vs Slowed... InvisibleCastle is down so I'll try again in the morning.
