Founding of a Guild (4e)

As she suffers the bite of poison again,Meriadeth gets back up on her feet and unloads her hand crossbow with an explosive burst.

None of the beasts falter at the arteficer's attack.

Meanwhile, the drake moves(O7) growls and spits again at Isdar, covering him again in acidic ooze (6 dmg)

Isdar (9/24, bloodied)
Oak (22/31)
Spider (injured 14)
Meriadeth (22/28 hp, prone, slowed, ongoing dmg) <-----narrative starts here
Drake (injured 24, bloodied) <--------narrative ends here
Desh -??-
Elias <--------------current initiative
Blizzard
Strange humanoid (injured 6)
Gator (injured 11)

[sblock=ooc] about Desh: I will start nepcing him before the next foes' turn if Lobo doesn't appear. At the end of the encounter we'll see if Lobo is still interested, otherwise we'll decide if we want a new recruit or not.
Also, I forgot to list Isdar's hp in the last two "dm summaries", but Isdar was actually at 13, so now he's at 9... [/sblock]

Desh finally moves forward and engages the giant spider , issuing a proud challenge, but he misses the nimble creature, barely grazing one of its legs.

Elias strikes at the spider too, hitting it on the head with his flail, and leaving an opening for Desh, who immediately steps forward, at the side of the beast.

Seeing no ally able to help him, Isdar unleashes his attack at the gator, but he fails to penetrate its tough skin.

[sblock=ooc]ok, npced both desh and elias...i'll contact lobo and see if he's out...
Red: I'm sorry, but neither elias nor desh could safely flank the gator with isdar, and I didn't find right to npc them drawing opportunity attacks without regards...[/sblock]

Blizzard casts a powerful cold spell that freezes the terrain under the spider and the gator; while the arachnoid evades the cold burst, the gator is hit, and despite his four short legs, can't keep the equilibrium, and falls, its belly on the ground. (H,I,J-8,9,10 squares are difficult terrain)

The humanoid keeps attacking Oak and hits the warforged with a vicious claw(8 dmg).
Meanwhile, the gator pulls itself up with difficulty and takes an aggressive, ready pose.

Isdar (9/24, bloodied) <----------current initiative
Oak (14/31, bloodied)
Spider (injured 18, divine challeged)
Meriadeth (22/28 hp, prone, slowed, ongoing dmg)
Drake (injured 24, bloodied)
Desh

[sblock]I know red, thanks :). But since i'm controlling 8 -Eight- creature, for the sake of simplicity and quickness I prefer you and garyh to post in consecutive turns. Moreover, you readied the action while having five companions, and ended having one only. That's why I rolled the attack despite the lack of the trigger[/sblock]

Realizing how dire the situation is, Isdar pulls out his most impressive trick, driving his dagger toward the joining of the alligator's leg with its abdomen, hoping to cripple it and set himself up for even better attacks in the future.

[sblock=ooc] Standard Action: Easy Target vs. Alligator, hits AC 24 for 7 damage. If it hits, the 'gator is slowed and grants me combat advantage (save ends both). If it misses, it takes 3 damage and grants me combat advantage until the end of my next turn.
Move Action: Shift one square north, to L8.
Action Point: Piercing Strike vs. Gator, using the combat advantage granted by Easy Target, hits Ref 19 for 17 damage. Oops, I forgot the +2 bonus from Elias, so that should be a 21 to hit, but only 14 damage (I added cha as if it were sly flourish.) Sorry.[/sblock]

Oak attacks the humanoid with everything it has, then pauses to collect itself before stepping carefully away from both the humanoid and the gator.

[sblock=OOC]
Standard action -

Jaws of the Wolf: two attacks vs one target, +7 vs AC, 2d8 + 4 longsword damage, miss = half damage per attack

1d20+7;2d8+4 → [16,7] = (23)
1d20+7;2d8+4 → [3,6,4] = (13)
1d20+7;2d8+4 → [18,7] = (25)
1d20+7;2d8+4 → [2,6,4] = (12)

Both look to have hit, plus the Hunter's Quarry damage of 6, makes for 31 damage to the humanoid.

Minor action -

Warforged Resolve: +3 temp HP, plus +3 HP if bloodied. Make one saving throw.

Move action - shift to M9[/sblock]

Realizing how dire the situation is, Isdar pulls out his most impressive trick, driving his dagger toward the joining of the alligator's leg with its abdomen, hoping to cripple it and set himself up for even better attacks in
the future. The gator bleeds profusely and its flesh is showing under the cracks in its scales.

Oak attacks the humanoid with everything he has, then pauses to collect himself before stepping carefully away from both the humanoid and the gator. Oak's blades are covered with blood, except that it doesn't look like blood at all...more like the fluids of a plant.
The strange creature looks like it's withering, and produces some seemingly angered sounds looking at the spider first, then at the gator, like it was issuing commands.
As responding immediately to it, the spider jumps past Elias and Meriadeth with incredible swiftness and mauls Blizzard, knocking him on the ground. At that instant, the spider is caught in a burst of light that strikes it.

Meanwhile, Meriadeth looks like she's going to succumb to the poison. Regardless, she steps away from the spider and shoots two magically infused darts, one at the giant spider, the other at Isdar. The spider suffers severe
damage and its life energy is transferred to Isdar.(10 temp hp) The girl is weakened, but she seems to have overcome the poison.

The drake stubbornly continues to hiss and spit acidic juices at Isdar. He is burned, but resists thanks to Meriadeth's aid. (14 dmg )

Desh carefully approaches the gator and strikes it with all of his strenght, killing it and splitting its head apart. As a side effect of this burst of divine power, Isdar recovers some of his strenght. (can spend an healing surge)

Elias approaches the spider and attacks it, but misses.
Blizzard stands and steps away from the spider, and hits it with a magical dart of cold energy.

The humanoid produces some strange cackling sound and swiftly jumps over the dead gator, away from Oak, and right in front of Desh and Meriadeth. As its arms rise, a number of thick vines and roots rise from the ground in a wide area around it, and grab Blizzard, Meriadeth, Elias and Desh in an iron morse.

Isdar (11/24, bloodied) <----------current initiative
Oak (17/31+3, bloodied)
Spider (injured 40, bloodied, slowed) <----------------------narrative starts here
Meriadeth (1/28 hp,bloodied, restrained, ongoing dmg)
Drake (injured 24, bloodied)
Desh (restrained, ongoing dmg)
Elias (restrained, ongoing dmg)
Blizzard (12/26, slowed, ongoing dmgx2, restrained)
Strange humanoid (injured 37, bloodied)<------------narrative ends here

Well done, Desh. Thank you!. Isdar leaps across the corpse of the gator and stabs at the humanoid's exposed back.

[sblock=ooc] Isdar gladly spends the healing surge generously offered by Desh.
Move Action: move to I10.
Standard Action: Piercing Strike vs. humanoid, hits AC 28 for 10 damage

And I believe that it was a long post. I hope you're writing it up in Word so you don't lose it all if the website gliches. [/sblock]

Definitely. (.txt actually...) Enworld even went down at some point so if I hadn't have it saved I'd have probably smashed my computer on the wall...[/sblock]
