The Realms adopted Roger E. Moore's demihuman gods, which weren't written for any setting in particular, in just the same way as the official World of Greyhawk did. No 'stealing' here, and not from the World of Greyhawk in any case.

I feel it relevant to point this out (http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=98409), I asked the same thing in a poll about a year ago, in case anybody wants to look at the last time this came up :) .

Interesting. So far, it looks like more people have embraced the FR cosmology since the last time a poll was taken. Now granted, neither of our polls can really be considered scientific, but it is interesting how the results have shifted a bit.

These deities only appear in FR products in 3e.

As of the Manual of the Planes and DDG, the core only had the pantheon heads, and some prattle about powerful heroes. Which put those of us who embraced the other demihuman deities out.

Alas, the later races books seem to have relented on this, but Races of Stone still has dwarves and gnomes without the classic demihuman deities. :(

But yeah. I think that with the decline of FR, we are seeing these core deities finally being returned to the core. It seems as if they though they could have gotten away with it, they would have yanked Lolth out of the core too.
