[FR] Which region would you most like to see a suppliment book for?

I voted for Outside Faerun.

If your description of the Island Kingdoms included Lantan and Nimbral, it would have been my #1 choice.

Aside from those... it would be interesting to get more info on the south, and some 3E material for the old empires, but I don't see the need for more than that. Faerun is already needlessly saturated with detail.

I would love a hardcover that dealt with Zakhara, Kara-Tur and Maztica. Throw in the Tuigan hordes and perhaps some other unknown land on that planet! The 3e FR books have been incredible and this one (should it ever come to light) would bring all the exotic parts of Faerun together into one book and perhaps shed some light on a new frontier...

P.S. Sixchan - Not sure what you mean by Greyhawk and Rokugan...?

I've always been told that in the same way that Kara-tur is on Toril, Rokugan is on Oerth. Since players often travel extensively in my games, if I'm not running a homebrew I like to know a fair bit about the setting, which I simply don't for Greyhawk.

I clicked the Heartlands option for the same reasons as NiTessine...plus the Dalelands are interesting to since they contain Shadowdale and Cormanthor.
My next vote would be the North especialy Waterdeep because I just love it. my first real characters were from their.
Although I agree the edge areas could use some work.

I voted for the Western Heartlands, which to my knowledge *hasn't* really been covered, even in 2e (other than Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast). I don't think a FR sourcebook could do Zakhara (and probably not Kara-Tur either) justice - as someone else said, that was an entire campaign setting back in 2e. Just because something is on Toril doesn't mean it's FR (though I'd *love* to see Al-Qadim back for 3e).

While you could certainly do that and it might be interesting, it's never been the case in any official capacity (to my knowledge).

My votes are:
1) Chultan Peninsula (notably Tashalar, Lapaliiya, Samarach, etc).

4) The Demonlands (Vaasa, Damara, The Great Dale, Narfell - and *especially* Impiltur - actually, only *if* Impiltur and The Great Dale are there).

I agree with Arnwyn about fleshing out less well-known areas. I'm actually looking forward to Unapproachable East and its unique flavor, which I hope will be expressed well. Personally, I voted for the Cold Lands. To me, it seems to me the least "Realmslike" and more akin to the cold and bitter worlds like the short story from R.R. Martin in the last Dragon.

The Border Kingdoms really interests me too, but I haven't used any of the material published by Ed Greenwood in Polyhedron. (the only place to find Border Lands information that I know of) Instead, I extrapolated a microcosmic hodgepodge of the South Lands from the short blurb in FRCS. It seemed interesting ... and fun for small empire campaigning.


One quick question about FR.
If you have 3E's FRCS, do the areas marked on the pull-out map in RED have any special significance?

Here's the list of locations, which is very, very few in comparison to all the other title colors (brown, green and whatnot):

  The Priador & Threskel
  The Border Kingdoms
  Ashanath

My only guess is that these areas are open to Ed Greenwood to change and play with. The first two seem closest his original world, the Vast is the living city, and the others seem purposefully only defined by Greenwood in 2nd ed. EAnyone know for sure?
