FRCS - Circle Magic question

Dark Dragon

To benefit from Circle Magic (FRCS) a character either needs the ethran feat (for hathrans) or the tattooed wizard feat (for red wizards). What about the other participants in circle magic, i.e. those who contribute spell levels to the circle leader? Must they meet the prequesites too (because the don't benefit from circle magic)?

Thanks for help,

I would say yes. This is a ritual used by secretive organizations, and those feats come from belonging to the org.

Only the circle leader needs the feat, IIRC.

He's also the only one who can lead a circle. In fact, where it first appeared, the feat even discussed a higher-ranking wizard in the RWs forcing his apprentices to donate spell slots to him every day as part of their servitude.

Yep, that's what I'm remembering, too. But I don't recall the source or any clarification on circle magic. :\
A clear ruling would be of great help, because my hathran just has become a circle leader and we have two other spellcasters in the group...

I went back and checked.

You do need the feat (Tattoo Focus for Red Wizards, Hathran for Rashemi) in order to participate - in 3.0, anyway. I don't know if this was changed in 3.5.

*Sigh* Bad luck, then. One caster is a human male alienist ("The voices teach me the spells..."), the other a male CHAOTIC dwarven eldritch knight. So, that's a big no-no for circle magic in this group :\
