(and some wonder why I buy my books discounted online...)

I'd love to be able to get my hands on some books if any kind souls want to help out a new dad. :D

I tell you what I can do...if I can persuade one of my buddies down at the FLGS to give me two Free RPG Day packs instead of only one, it will be yours for the price of shipping.

/congrats on being a new dad, too.

I did some calling around, and this is what I found in Portland, Oregon. Of the handfull that I called, I found three establishments that will be participating this year:

HobbyTown USA
25699 SW Argyle Ave
Wilsonville, OR
503-685-7333
Opens at 10:00 a.m.

Guardian Games
302 SE 3rd Ave
Portland, OR
503-238-4000
Opens at 11:00 a.m.

Knightfall Games
9955 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway
Beaverton, OR

Rainy Day Games
18105 SW Tualatin Valley Hwy
Beaverton, OR
503-642-4100
Opens at 10:00 a.m.

Not Participating:
Bridgetown Games
Empire Games
Gamers Guild
All other HobbyTown USA locations
Nexus Games

Most of the non-participating stores either (a) had never heard of Free RPG Day, or (b) didn't get the info in time to register. Maybe next year, the ship will be much tighter.

Your friendly neighbors in Salem are doing Free RPG day! Those who south of the Portland area are welcome to head up our way.

Borderlands Games
456 High St NE
Salem, Or 97301
503 485-2554

We got plenty of fun stuff planned for the day, including free instore gaming sessions for 4e, exalted, Changling, Werewolf, Shadowrun and a bunch of other great games!

No stores in Boise are participating this year. :(

Three (possibly more) participated last year, and I'm pretty sure those three stores are still open. I wonder why they didn't bother this year? Is there a cost to the retail store to participate? It seems like a no-brainer to me, free publicity and people walking in the door. I bought something at the store I visited last year, All About Games.

Maybe I'll go in tomorrow and ask, "Why no swag?"

There's one tiny store in a suburb of Minneapolis that is participating. I would go there, but I cannot drive (health reasons) and all my rides seem to be out of town this weekend. So, trapped at home. :(
