Both the stores in my area are participating. I am running at one, and hope to drop by the other store in the evening.

The two stores are the Days of Knights and Between Books

In Fredericton, NB it's Strange Adventures or nothing, as near as I can tell. They're open 10 am till 6 pm. 68 York Street.

Most of the non-participating stores either (a) had never heard of Free RPG Day, or (b) didn't get the info in time to register. Maybe next year, the ship will be much tighter.

We got plenty of fun stuff planned for the day, including free instore gaming sessions for 4e, exalted, Changling, Werewolf, Shadowrun and a bunch of other great games!

No stores in Boise are participating this year.

Three (possibly more) participated last year, and I'm pretty sure those three stores are still open. I wonder why they didn't bother this year? Is there a cost to the retail store to participate? It seems like a no-brainer to me, free publicity and people walking in the door. I bought something at the store I visited last year, All About Games.

Maybe I'll go in tomorrow and ask, "Why no swag?"

There's one tiny store in a suburb of Minneapolis that is participating. I would go there, but I cannot drive (health reasons) and all my rides seem to be out of town this weekend. So, trapped at home.

Is there a cost to the retail store to participate

I think there is, but it is much less than, say, Free Comic Day. I think the cost covers shipping and the packing of the free rpg box.
