Free RPG Day - Who is participating in your area?

Nobody around here was hosting a Free RPG event, at least when I checked the WoTC website the other day. I did go into one our stores and other than a CCG tournament and some LAN games, not much else was going on (though they are in the process of liquidating almost all of their non-adventure hardcover 3.x books).

Anyone run into stores doing one item per person?

Endgame in Oakland were doing two per person. The WotC stuff (mini, module, tiles) weren't packaged together, but counted as one. Made it tough to choose, but it meant that by the time I left at 11 (I was the second one there), there were still plenty of good things left for the slowly growing crowd coming in. I think the way they handled it was a good choice for everyone. It meant no one was going to bother grabbing anything they didn't really want.

There are two stores in my area. I was running games at one, so I went to the other first. They were doing 1 per person and had run out of a lot of things by shortly before noon.

The other store the owner and I discussed it. We would have done one per person, but traffic was light. We decided to go with 2 per person and when we were done there was plenty left, so we went with "take what you are interested in."

I really liked the WotC adventure (which I got to see early) and I like the Song of Fire & Ice quick start rules. That's all I've really looked at so far (I started looking at the Trail of Cthulhu adventure).

I think I walked away with almost one of everything, I even managed to score a second Paizo mod for a friend. I went to 2 stores in the morning, got about 2 apiece then. I then returned in the afternoon to get what was left. Looks like traffic was pretty light at the stores in Boulder and Broomfield, CO.

Two per person at the store here, so I grabbed the WotC tile and module, and got hte miniature. I think I could have grabbed a die as well, but I felt guilty for having already gotten 3 things, even though it was cool with them. If I could have grabbed one other thing, it would have been the DCC Gazetteer...sad to see that one pass me by.
