Freeware D&D Tools

I'm always on the lookout for good and free D&D utilities. What freeware tools have you found? Basically, I'm looking for anything that could be used to help a player or DM, whether it's made for D&D or not. Could be something that's downloaded and installed or something that's used online.

I like 3eProfiler (the original site is no longer functional, but the code has been passed around and you can find 3eProfilers all over the place), PCGen, and OpenRPG. What other utilities have you guys found?

No problem. It's a common mistake. Even fellow mammals find it hard to distinguish the five female gamers from the fifty million who post on boards like this. All our text tends to look the same. ;)

And I was just thinking that the other day too ... that's what made it so funny for me ... I was wondering how many female gamers were actually posting in here. And then I thought that maybe there were more than I knew because you can't always tell from the avatar or the writing.

So - did you find anything worthwhile?

Not yet. It seems like all the good programs you have to pay for eventually. I haven't combed the entire list yet, though.

Although the main ViewingDale map creator & browser is not free the site has several free apps to download.
There is the dice program which is very popular, and a simple terrain generator & 3D viewer.
The terrain generator is used as input into a more powerful geomorphing program. If you like a simple terrain then there is an open invitation to use it as input into the big app and get a free high res campaign map. I have a thread running in the cartography section as a request for comment on the is one.

I just found a very nice excel based treasure generator called Lute. I don't have a link, but I'm sure you can find it with Google. There was also an excel character sheet caled Tympani (?). Both are shareware, but fully functional.
