Frenying Berzerker Deathless Frenzy Question

First Post
Would the frenzy prevent the character from dieing from something like dragon's breath, or does the character simply ignore damage that is purely physical (ie sword attacks, bites, etc.)? Am just wondering exactly what the limits are.

In a recent campaign, we beat a frenzied ettin down to -900 hitpoints before we figured it out and "killed" him with Calm Emotions. That is a nasty ability, especially for the villians to use. They really need some sort of damage limit or it's just silly.

Would harm have a beneficial effect (eg restore the barbarian to 1d4 hp) if he was already minus? Thought this would be an interesting moment, when the cleric discovers that his spell actually helped. Ok, I don't really think this would work, but the spell description doesn't mention anything about what happens if the character is already below 0 hp. So how much damage would this spell put on top of the already -hp of the frenzying barbarian? Or would it simply have no effect?
