Full attack action feats - Dirty Fighting

We had a tangential rules discussion over in General when discussing The Quintessential Fighter:
http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26696

The main FAQ clearly states that the feat Dirty Fighting requires a Full Attack action, therefore a character can either have one attack and use the feat and get extra damage or use multiple attacks (if they have them) without using the feat.

The question: Does the FAQ's clarification on this feat imply an extension of this ruling to all similar feats requiring a full attack action, e.g. Two-Handed Power Strike from QF?

I would say yes because of multiple precedents, but I want to hear from the crew.

Actually, these two feats are worded differently and that's important.

Dirty Fighting: "This feat requires the Full Attack action."

Two-Handed Power Strike: "...only be applied when you are using the full attack combat action."

Dirty Fighting has to be done as a full round action, so only one attack per round using it. 2HPS can only be used when taking a full round action, so as long as what you are doing requires a full round you use this feat.

Where are you seeing this?

In my S&F on pg.6, Dirty Fighting, it says, "This feat requires the full attack action." and there is nothing in the S&F errata regarding this feat.

Umm, I can't type. That's what that is all about. I even read it before posting and missed it. Actually, I'm watching football as I do this so I'm a little distracted. It is a Full Attack Action. A Full Around Action is pure gibberish. Sorry, I'll edit and fix that.

Have you tried asking them?.

No, because I'm trying to reach a broader perspective and consensus. For the sake of argument, ignore the specific example of Two-Handed Power Strike.

Does the precedent set by Dirty Fighting apply to all like feats?

I'd say so. There's a couple others that work the same way - Circle Kick, I think? Really, it would have been better if they worded it like Whirlwind Attack: "you give up your regular attacks and get one that does +1d4 (or whatever) damage".

I'll also note that WWA apparently doesn't cause you to give up your off-hand attacks - so potentially if you used Dirty Fighting you could still make multiple attacks using TWF and its successors (although you wouldn't get the damage bonus for the off-hand attacks).

It might and it might not, but that's neither here nor there. The question is what is their "intent" of their feat.

I get the feeling that Mongoose intended for the feat to function like Dirty Fighting. On the other hand, a lot of the materials from their books are so over the top powerful that it's quite possible it would function on all attacks in a full attack action.

That's why I suggest you ask them.

GOD I HATE DIRTY FIGHTING!!! MESSED UP MY CHARACTER!!!! STUPID FULL ACTION!!!! AJHHHHHHH!!!

Sorry guys, just needed a little ventalation there, I'm better. now.
