Fun with Monster Names

One fun thing about 4e is having to name all your monster types. For example, I wanted to have some 1st level Tieflings for the 1st level PC's to get into a brawl with. In older versions of D&D they would have been "First Level Tiefling Fighters" or something like that.

Now I got to name the first level soldier "Tiefling Jerk" and the skirmisher "Tiefling Nimrod"

Really. .can you change the name if you progress to a higher level?
Sorry, haven't tried that one yet. But I'd like to try. I like games that allow customization. :)

I like the naming thing, but that's because I think it's fun to make up the names, not because I think it is a important rules aspect. If the tiefling no longer becomes rude to the PCs, then would his levels and hit points change? He is no longer a Tiefling Jerk. Maybe he would become a That Tiefling that's Kind of Cool - Level 2 eliete brute?

Sorry, you're not allowed to give monsters names like that. They'll have to be Tiefling Darkcaster or Tiefling Bloodrunner or Tiefling Shadowshadow.

Tiefling GreaserPunk?

Dragonborn LettermanJock

Eladrin RabidYuppie.

Elven RedNeck!

Dwarven SoccerHooligan.

This is fun.

And don't forget to use the same mob but just change the colors. They should get darker or paler the more dangerous they are. Oh, and one unigue one should be named and slightly larger. He's an elite and you won't be able to kill him if you play solo.
