(i haven't seen the last 'movie' yet so i have no idea how the overall story direction went. but hopefully it can continue without it seeming forced)

Good news! It's a suppository

Hopefully the movies are considered non-canonical. I would rather they continue the storyline directly after The Devil Hands Are Idle Playthings.

I felt the move to just doing movies was a good way to keep the concept fresh beyond the typical prime of such shows that otherwise overstay their welcome. I hate to see something that good degrade. I will keep my fingers crossed but watch with trepidation.

Except the movies weren't very good. I think they'll do a better job returning to the shorter episode format that they did a great job with previously.

Well, keep in mind that the movies are actually written to be 4 episodes each, to be split up as episodes on comedy central.

I had actually run a little informal experiment in my house (it wasn't done on purpose, it just sort of happened) -- half the people watched a futurama movie all the way through. the other half watched it broken up (as if it were 4 episodes) once a week. Both groups had a mix of 'fans' and 'nonfans' of the series.

Results: the people watching it as seperate episodes enjoyed that movie more over all.

I'm guessing it had to do with pacing, some built anticipation every week waiting for the next episode, or waiting for the joke payoff and it becoming a running gag rather than instant gratification...

If I can get the household to participate in my evil mind experiements, I will try and do the same with the other movies and mixing up the groups some :)

(not a blanket universal statement, just a statement of what observation from my own household).

I have only seen Bender's Big Score on Sci-Fi. I didn't like it much. I felt it was too over the top with the alien scammers and Lars (spoiler:
Fry
).

Dumbest pet in show! They should forget the movies for some raisin.
