BITD TSR actually did a parody song in Dragon, called "Valley Elf". I don't recall the issue, but pretty sure it was one of those April Fools issues.

Greyhawk WAS D&D. FR is and will be, and I'm a GH fan. WoTC can do tons with the FR TV and movie wise.

As far as Castle Greyhawk, I think the most accurate reproduction would come from setting Goodman Games loose on it. I remember an awsome panel on CGH @ Garycon many years ago. Best hurry. Time is ticking, memories are fading.

Me too!

What's PoL?

Points of Light, the default non-setting of 4e which primarily centered around the Nentir Vale in the published material (and some times referred to as the Nentir Vale). However, it was really just the assumption in 4e that the characters are in a harsh world fraught with danger. The old empires have crumbled and a only a few settlements, aka "points of light," stand against the darkness.

Additionally, PoL has a pretty extensive backstory involving a dawn war between gods and primodials, Far Realm incursions (far realm artifact + elementals=demons, so conjure elemental gives you a lot more options), primal spirits that largely keep immortals, elementals, and far realmers off the surface of the planet and are the power source for druids, rangers, barbarians, etc. (note that they apparently have little to no ability to keep things out of the Underdark). It is also where the Feywild was first a big thing and the Shadowfell got its name.

There were a couple of classes that haven't been particularly well translated into 5e as well as some playable races that aren't playable currently. It certainly seems to me that they could fill in a UA with content.
