Gadgets for any Agent...

First Post
I've been whipping up some gadgets for my D20 Modern campaign, and I figured I'd slap some up here in case anybody else wanted to use them. I also wouldn't mind some feedback on them. :)

Bug-Killer Pen
Available in many styles, this pen is a staple among agents in the field. By removing the top of the pen, the broad-spectrum jamming circuitry, which looks similar to a tiny antenna, is exposed and activated. This effectively creates a “dead zone” within a 10-foot radius, centered on the pen. No bugs or audio snooping devices will function within this area, even if they originate from outside the area. The unique function of the pen creates the illusion that no sound is present, instead of merely generating white-noise to overwhelm listening devices, as most bug-killers do. This helps prevent the arise of suspicion when someone can’t hear the agent after they have entered a room with someone else. The pen has enough power to function for 60 seconds before it must be recharged or the batteries replaced.

Camera Gun
Though the name is somewhat of a misnomer, this device is not a firearm. In truth, it is an air-compressed mini-camera launcher. Each camera is about as wide as a dime and only one-sixth of an inch thick. Attached to the bottom of the camera is a short steel spike, allowing the camera to be fired into a surface suitable for attachment. Between the base of the camera and spike is a tiny motorized pivot, allowing the camera to pan 45 degrees to the left and right.
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspGenerally available in the shape and appearance of a tube of lipstick or chap stick, it appears and functions as such in all respects. However, with a short twist of the bottom cap, the gun can be turned over and fired by depressing a tiny button on the side of the tube. The cameras are launched spike-first from the tube and are capable of attaching themselves to any surface that has a hardness of 5 or less. The camera gun has a range increment of 10 feet and can hold up to two cameras.
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspEach camera can operate for up to four hours before their batteries must be replaced. The cameras transmit an encrypted digital video signal that has a maximum range of up to half a mile. This signal can be received in the same manner as Copy-Cat lenses, such as with the Strom Digital Receiver Watch.

Copy-Cat Lenses
Available in many shapes, sizes and colors, these lenses transmit an encrypted digital video signal that relays exactly what the wearer is seeing. Anyone using a device that can receive the signal is allowed to make Spot, Search, and similar skill checks as if he were actually there. If there is a mode of communication between the wearer and the viewer, the viewer can aid the wearer in certain tasks, such as Spot, Search, Open Lock, or even Sense Motive (if the wearer is speaking to someone face to face). This grants the wearer a +2 circumstance bonus to these skill checks. The lenses have enough power to function for up to three hours before they need to be recharged.

Electromagnetic Sensitive Lenses
Further expanding upon the concept of utilitarian eyewear, Max Whitman and his team have engineered these marvels. These high-tech lenses reveal fluctuations in the electromagnetic fields of others. Such fluctuations are generally caused by firearms, electronics, or any other metallic item that is roughly the size of a man’s closed fist. Like IR sensitive lenses, electromagnetic sensitive lenses are largely used by high-priced security guards and by many security personnel of the PDI. They have proved themselves in the field as an early warning tool and for searching individuals for firearms or other potentially harmful gear.
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspAgents in the field typically use these lenses as an early warning system whenever they must make contact with another individual. Whenever a metal object of sufficient size and density comes within 10 feet of the wearer, the electromagnetic field created by the item causes a small portion of these lenses to faintly glow. The effect can only be seen by the wearer, and the end result is that the metal object is surrounded by a faint aura. Within 5 feet, the wearer can see a much more detailed aura that could possibly reveal to him what the item is. A successful Craft (mechanical) check (DC 15) will reveal a firearm and a successful Craft (electronic) check (DC 15) will reveal an electronic gadget. Those without either skill can make an Intelligence check (DC 20) to see if they can identify an item.
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThe lenses also grant the wearer a +5 equipment bonus to notice firearms and metallic equipment concealed using Sleight of Hand. If these lenses are worn in close proximity to someone, such as during a “pat down”, with a concealed metallic device of appropriate size, the wearer receives a +10 equipment bonus to Search checks.

Flash-Reactive Lenses
These polarized lenses almost completely eliminate glare. They also have a flash-reactive coating on the back-side of the lenses. Whenever the lenses are exposed to light-levels above that of a common 120 watt household light-bulb, the lenses instantly darken to a more comfortable level. Even if the lenses are exposed to a brilliant flash, such as that of a flash grenade, the flash-reactive coating instantly darkens to prevent harm to the wearer’s eyes. The lenses lighten and darken extraordinarily fast, taking less than a second. The darkening and lightening of the lenses are not noticeable to those observing the wearer. Due to their unique design, they do not impair the wearer’s sight in any way. Because of this, they are perfectly functional even on night missions.
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThough never actually tested, it is believed that these lenses would even protect the eyes of the wearer from the ultra-bright flash of a nuclear explosion. They have seen extensive use by the Cleaners of Patriot Division-8, and the same technology is often employed in tactical helmets and goggles.

Heat Sensitive Targeting Goggles
One of the most impressive tactical aid inventions of Max Whitman, these goggles have seen extensive use among the Cleaners of Patriot Division-8. The lenses are extraordinarily sensitive to the heat signatures generated by most living creatures.
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspWhen a living creature of at least small size passes within the field of vision of the wearer, the goggles superimpose a thin and unobtrusive targeting reticle over the lenses, displaying the location of the heat signature. This grants the wearer a +5 equipment bonus to Spot checks while tracking a target by heat. It also grants a +1 equipment bonus to attacks against creatures that have a heat signature. The goggles have enough power to function for up to two hours before they need to be recharged.

IR Sensitive Lenses
Though the concept of IR sensitive lenses is not new, this and many other applications are. These lenses are sensitive to intense infra-red light, making such light visible to anyone that looks through them. Some of the most common applications of these lenses are in sunglasses, goggles, scuba masks, and armored headgear, such as the kind worn by SWAT teams.
&nbsp&nbsp&nbspAgents typically use IR sensitive sunglasses to detect infra-red laser beams used in many security systems. However, these lenses are also quite functional with IR laser sights, allowing the agent to place the laser-dot on their target without alerting anyone else. The lenses, no matter their application, reveal any infra-red laser beams within 60 feet of the wearer.

Strom Digital Camera Watch
Named after one of the most respected and successful agents of the PDI during the Cold War, and one of the few individuals that could actually be called a spy, this is a highly advanced version of the many similar watches available on the open market. It is capable of storing 30 full-color, 2-Megapixel JPEG images, which are indexed according to an automatic timestamp system. It includes a hidden 4X lens that automatically adjusts to lighting conditions. The 20 x 20mm shock resistant color LCD screen can also be changed into a standard digital watch face with the push of a button. A tiny IR transceiver allows the stored images to be transferred with ease.

Strom Digital Receiver Watch
Similar in appearance to the Strom Digital Camera Watch, this watch does not contain a camera, but instead has been outfitted with the necessary encryption protocols to securely receive the digital video transmission sent by Copy-Cat Lenses. It functions at a range of up to three miles. It is only used for observation purposes, as the LCD screen is too small for the viewer to aid the wearer of the aforementioned lenses.
