Pathfinder 1E Gama trade show - Pathfinder Basic

I wonder if it will have pregenerated PCs or allow character creation from scratch.

One of the fun things back then when I first got the basic set in the early 80s was rolling the weird-shaped dice, and to make a character, you got to roll a lot of dice!

Well it is a smart move to have this finally hitting the selves just in time for Christmas sales. Now with the "gateway" product to get people interested it will be easier to covert those who actual play this "basic edition". Now if they can get this into mass market store like WalMart and Target with a good price point, the landscape of table top RPG could be changing even further in their favor.

I will be keeping a weather eye out for more information.

This will not be something that I need, but it might be very handy for Christmas gifts. :)

Very interesting. Especially the level range (1-5), given that one of the biggest gripes about WotC basic sets have been the limited level range (1-2).

Here's to hoping Paizo is aiming to check off a few more of the other things people have been clamoring for.

EDIT: but, come to think of it, I think the price point is a wee bit of a let down.

I hope this is a totally separate thing from regular Pathfinder. I'd like it to be like BECMI was to AD&D. I already bought a red box last year that was basically just an incomplete intro to a larger game. I don't really want another one of those.

I hope they finally get rid of the 3.5 logo. It stopped being 3.5 two years ago and newcomers probably won't make the assumption that 3.5 = D&D anyway.

Me too. I'd like a stripped-down version of Pathfinder and know that it can be done.
