in ye olde dayes i would game 3-4hrs/ session; 5 days/week; 50 weeks per year. and did for the length of the campaign.

Ahh, yesss....

That was my schedule, from about my junior year in high school, until my third year of college. During the summer, it was more than that.

I'm in three groups right now.

An every other Thursday Greyhawk game.
9 people in this group.

A once a month RttToEE group.
5 people (4 of whom are from the greyhawk group).

An every other Wednesday homebrew game (on the weeks we don't play Greyhawk).
4 people (no overlap with the other group's membership [except for myself of course]).

The Greyhawk game is the one I'm married to. The other games I'm just seeing on the side...
;)

I DM a game. I play in a T20 game that is DMed by one of my players. There is some overlap of players, but not total.

One of the players in my group also plays a 2nd edition game with a bunch of people I've never met. I want to play in another game so bad I would be willing to play 2nd edition, but they don't want another player. :(

I'm about ready to go looking for a group of strangers to play with, but that makes me a tad nervous. I went so far as to answer a post on the Wizard's board, but I haven't been contacted yet.

Only in the last four years or so have I not been in multiple game groups, which like as not would share no members between them. If I didn't have to look after my Mom, I still would be, more than likely.

Right now, I am in one regular Fri. night game, and a once-a-month (this is the first non-weekly game I've ever been involved in) game on Sat afternoons (though that usually turns into every other month for me).

Five years ago, I would have been in three regular weekly games: Friday nights, Sat. Nights and Sunday afternoon.

I do game online, though (MUSH, mainly), and I'm involved in the Dusk PbP game.

Edit to qualify how often each group played.

When I lived in Chicago I played with one group from 11-4 on Saturdays then caught the 5:20 train down to Indiana (not as far as it sounds :D) to play with a second group. This lasted about 4 months or so when the morning group finally broke up. I played with the other group for over a year, until I moved to Minnesota.

I DM a group, play in 3 other groups. Each group has some player overlap, so in effect three of my players are also my DM. That works out pretty well because the four of us want more gaming than we were getting in any one group. Each group plays somewhere around once a month or every 3 weeks.

Oh boy ... here we go ...

I run the Company of the Random Encounter campaign (CotRE) with 12 players, though there are only six at each session (there's a kind of semi-roster thing going on ... it works surprisingly well). Let's call them "A" through "L".

I play in a game run by one of the 12 players above ("A"). This group also includes four people from CotRE ("B" through "E"), plus one additional person ("M"). That's the second campaign in my .sig - In Hextor's Name.

I also play in a game run by another of the CotRE players ("B", who also plays in "A"s game). "A" plays in this game, too, along with two new players: "N" and "O".

"B" is a glutton for punishment and runs a second campaign. "A" dips out this time, but "N" and "O" are still there with me, along with two additional players: "P" and "Q".

("B", for the record, is arwink. You can find both his games in the Story Hours - look for 'Seldarn Empire')

I also play in four PbP games, but let's leave them out of this little exercise :)

So, I'm in four groups, all of which have at least some overlap with other groups. There are 17 other players in total. Like myself, "B" is in all four groups, and "A" is in three of them. Five of the others play in two of the games. That leaves 10 others who only play one campaign - at least that I'm in. I believe at least 4 of them have other groups I'm not involved with.

Lessee... Two different online groups (Nightfall's and enrious') and a real-life group... And probably joining another real-life group, once they have an opening.

I run a live HackMaster game every week. I'm gearing up to run an OAD&D game and a Lejendary Adventure game every other week.

Online, I run a GM-only HackMaster game (until it's someone else's turn, then I play) and run two 3e games. I also play in a 3e game newly converted from a modified Exalted system, 2 other 3e games and two 2e games, all play-by-post.

So, what is that? I run 4 games and plan on adding 2 more and I play in 5 games. Given the rotating nature of my online HM game, it will end up as 5 games run and 6 games played. Unless, of course, I find another local tabletop to join as a player!

Oh yeah. And so far, they're all different groups.
