Game of Thrones S3 episode 6 (spoiler warning!)

He must be inspired by Jordan's Winter's Heart, then.

I think I quit the Wheel of Time series before that... and never picked it up again after Jordan passed away. Until the beginning of this year when I heard that Brandon Sanderson had finished the series out. So, I'm starting that series all over from the beginning (up to Lord of Chaos now). Hopefully, Winter's Heart is a bit better than that.

(I was hoping to finish the series by the end of the year and then maybe have an update on Martin's next book by that time.)

The Sanderson books are really good; they lack the pacing problems Jordan's actual books have. You can just about skip books 8 & 9 and pick up at book 10 without having missed much.

Kind of sad when an author's work improves after he dies. I'd hate to see GRRM go the same way but after the long delay for ADwD I'd recommend he hire Sanderson, too.

Thanks for the info - I had heard mixed, but generally positive, reviews on Sanderson's work on WoT.
