[GameCube] Just finished Zelda: The Wind Waker...

First Post
...and while I enjoyed it very much, I've noticed a curious phenomenon associated with all the Zelda games I've played (Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and The Wind Waker), which is that I find myself afflicted by an inexplicable sense of melancholy upon finishing the games.

I wonder if I should stop playing Zelda games. :(

Anyone else ever feel this way?

Well, you're feeling the inevitable low that follows finishing one of the best video games ever made. It's great to have reached the end, but now you're done.

That having been said, if you've finished it once, you can replay the adventure a second time, but some things are slightly different (such as Link keeping his blue outfit throughout the game, and some dialogue being different). You also have your color camera at the start, so you can start collecting statues right away, if you so desire.

You need to go play some Metroid, Tony Hawk or Godzilla, and play those blues away. And remember, a new Zelda game using the same engine is already in the works. It'll probably be out next year.

And yes, you're not the only one to feel that melancholy after the game is done. I think many of us do. It's like watching your favorite TV show end. :(

I agree with everything WizarDru posted above. On top of that, Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker both had depressing elements during their finales (Link and Zelda parting ways, the destruction of Hyrule beneath the sea, etc.).

EDIT: Some of the 'big' titles looming on the horizon may cheer you up. Scour the net for good preview material.

Ooh! Rogue Squadron 3!!!

Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike! Any news or links to news can you give me? And is there actually gonna be MP capability.

Anyway, back to topic.

I know, although I still need to beat it. I got that when I beat OoT, LotP, LA, and OoS (although OoS can be continued on OoT, which I need to find).

And about the new Zelda game, I think it's a GC version of Four Swords. I'd be more inclined to buy it if they give the same deal as with WindWaker pre-ordering (IE. I preorder, and I get a N64 Zelda remade for GC. I've never played Majora's Mask).

My fiancee has decreed that I'm not allowed to finish WindWaker before she does, so I had to switch to Skies of Arcadia.

But, no, I don't feel sad after completing a Zelda game. I feel a sense of accomplishment!

Oh, I forgot to mention that RS3 will include every RS2 level with split-screen multiplayer (2-player only). Plus there's some 4 player Deathmatch, capture-the-flag, etc. type stuff, too.

Like Co-op play in other games like Halo (except also in an X-wing).

Right, except the normal RS3 missions aren't multiplayer, and from what I understand, the RS2 levels have to be played as multiplayer (though I don't know if you can have an AI pilot play with you).

Ok, thanks for clarifying that, Ristamar.

And I'm sorry for detracting the thread.
