Gamer's Album of the Year (Make your nomination!!)

Michael Morris

First Post
My nomination: Evanscense Fallen

Why: Entertainment Weely described this groups sound as a sort of Enya meets Heavy Metal. Still, this is only album released this year that I can listen to repeatedly. Hell, I crossed Pennsylvania and Ohio without switching away from this CD. It's the only one I've heard in a year or so that doesn't have a bad track on it.

All this is my opinion though. So praise your favorite CD released this year :)

You know, MM, I think that I'm really going to have to agree with ya on the Evanescence CD. It's really an incredibly good CD; there's just so many good songs that I can listen to repeatedly without getting sick of them. I only occaisionally need a break from them since the music is a tad on the dark side. But definately, one of the most played CDs in my car. It's been played entirely through at least a quarter of the times that I've gone back and forth from Chambana to Bolingbrook.

My wife and I found Venus Hum, who opened for Blue Man Group. We really like that band. Their Big Beautiful Sky CD is really good.

Meteora - Linkin Park

The only CD I bought this year that I can listen straight through without wanting to skip a single track. I have to say that Kid Rock's self titled album is almost as good, IMO.

Incidentally, all the Evanescence fans in the room should also check out Nightwish. Similar style, classically trained singer, heavily influenced by Lord of the Rings, and without the overproduced pop beats that find their way into all the domestic music these days. ;)
